For my handmade holiday gift idea, we will be making a set of coasters!
With the holidays fast approaching, many of us are looking for quick and easy, inexpensive gifts for people on our lists. Why not take your scrap supplies and whip up these handmade coasters? They are perfect for coworkers, hostess gifts, and stocking stuffers!
You will need:(4) 4x4" squares of glass of plexiglass(4) 4x4" squares of thin corkMod podge and a foam brushPatterned paperScissors or paper trimmer
Craft knife and cutting matBone folder
Ribbon
Paint a layer of mod podge on the back of the glass.Cut a square of patterned paper slightly larger than your glass square and adhere it face down to the back of the glass square, so that your pattern shows through the glass. Smooth out the paper with a bone folder.Once the mod podge dries, turn the glass over and trim off the excess paper with a craft knife.
Paint a layer of mod podge on the back of the coaster and adhere a cork square to the bottom of the coaster. Once mod podge is dry, trim off excess cork if necessary with a craft knife.
Here are all four coasters to complete the set:
Stack the coasters and tie them together with a pretty ribbon. Personalize your gift by including your favorite recipe for mulled cider, eggnog, or hot cocoa.I hope you enjoyed this tutorial! Please leave me a comment, and then hop on over to
