Today

Today is the middle of a three day weekend! Today is going to be a busy day here planting some new things I got at the store...some blueberry, raspberry and grape plants. Today is Sunday which means a new sketch at Creative Scrappers. Sketch #53 was created by yours truly. The page I created is titled "TODAY" and is about the day we got Chloe's ears pierced. I used MME Bloom and Grow papers, Riff Raff chipboard which I sprayed with Tiger Lily Glimmer Mist, Prima flowers, and Kaiser Craft rhinestones. The journaling was printed on a transparency.
Journaling reads: Today was a big day for you. We spent the weekend in Evansville to watch Ashley graduate from the University of Evansville with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. We went out for breakfast at Denny's with Grandpa, Grandma, and Ashley. We had a few hours to kill before the ceremony started, so we decided to go to the mall and do some shopping. We were at Claire's buying you some pretty bows for your hair when Daddy said, "Let's get Chloe's ears pierced." You were so brave, sitting on my lap, but I could tell you were still unsure. They did both ears at the same time, and you cried as I carried you to the car. You broke my heart when through your tears, you said, "Mommy hurt me!" Once you saw how pretty they were, though, you changed your mind. I'm so proud of my baby girl! May 9, 2009.

Speaking of Ashley's graduation, I finished up a two page layout about it using the June KnK kit. I'll be able to show you that is a few days. I also got my June kit from Back Porch Memories in the mail yesterday, and I LOVE it! Wait until you see everything in this kit! I can't wait to start digging into that. First, though, I need to start digging in the yard and get these plants in the ground. I hope you all have a great weekend!

KnK June Kit

Check out the June kit at Kit 'n' Kaboodles that arrived at my house last week! It includes papers from 7gypsies Gypsy Market collection and Creative Imagination ledger papers as well as the coolest sheet of handmade paper I've ever seen! Boy would I like to get my hands on some more of that stuff! There's much more in this kit, but I'll just let you see for yourself.I also received the add on kit this month which included gorgeous Prima butterflies, 7gypsies vintage book covers, and 7gypsies Gypsy Market chipboard alphas. Here is a layout that I created using this kit. Here is a close up of the tag. The tag is actually cut out of the tag book that came in the kit, and I used three different colors of glimmer mist on it, stamped on it and printed the quote on a transparency.
Instead of creating a mini book with the book covers, I punched holes in them, tied them together with ribbon, and created a stand up frame. I love the vintage look of these!I'm also working on a two page layout with this kit which I'll be able to show you in a few days, and check back on Sunday for the latest sketch and layout for Creative Scrappers! Have a great weekend!

Back Porch Memories Reveal Time!

It's the 10th of May, and that means a lot of things today! First, it is Mother's Day, so Happy Mother's Day to all of you wonderful women out there! Second it is my birthday, so it is a double fun day for me! Third, it is reveal day for the Back Porch Memories Design Team! Finally, it is also time for a new sketch at Creative Scrappers! How's that for a day jammed packed with fun?

I had the pleasure of working with the May Solo Kit this month at BPM which was loaded with Fancy Pants Delight papers, rub ons, ribbon and trim, Bazzill cardstock and cardstock trims, Chatterbox brads, American Crafts Thickers, and My Little Shoebox mini alpha stickers. I couldn't stop creating with this amazing kit until I had exhausted it completely. Suffice it to say that there is very little left on my table in the way of scraps!I also used this kit to create my layout for Creative Scrappers this week. I created this week's sketch too! It is a pretty simple sketch with a lot of possibilities, so have fun with it!
Be sure and check out Back Porch Memories to see the Medley kit and what the rest of the Design Team created! Also head over to Creative Scrappers to see what the rest of the Design Team did with my sketch and play along with us this week!

More KnK May Kit Goodness!

Here is another layout and a card that I whipped up with the May kit from Kit 'n' Kaboodles. I used rub ons from the embellishment add on on my layout. These rub ons are great and went on like butter! This kit is fantastic, and the addition of the textured cardstock papers makes it even more amazing! If you like what you see, you better order one now before they are all sold out!
