Creative Scrappers Sketch #32

This is the last sketch for the current design team at Creative Scrappers. The new design team starts next week. It has been a pleasure working with these incredibly talented ladies, and I'm looking forward to working with the next team which is loaded with talent as well.

Click here to see this week's sketch created by Day and what the rest of the design team created. I have to admit, this is one of my current favorite layouts. I just love how it turned out. I used BasicGrey Urban Prairie papers, Prima flowers, Prima Say it in Crystals, BasicGrey rub ons, Riff Raff chipboard butterflies which I sprayed with glimmer mist, painted with stickles and then added the Kaiser Craft rhinestones.

I have a couple of other projects with the KnK January kit that I'll be posting soon, so check back later for those. I love how they turned out too! It has been such a fun kit to work with, and wait until you see February's kit! Suffice it to say I squealed with delight when I saw the sneak peek. That's all I can say about it right now. I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays. Hope you have a happy New Year!

Creative Scrappers reveal and new Design Team

Today's sketch over at Creative Scrappers was created by Deanne Burton. Click here to see what the rest of the Design team created using Sketch #30. For my page, I used some BasicGrey Ambrosia and some Sassafras Lass Woodland Whimsy papers. I also used a mix of Prima and Bo Bunny flowers and some Prima Say it in Crystals.

Speaking of Creative Scrappers, the new Design Team starting in January 2009 was just announced, and I am very happy to remain on the team for another term! I love that I've been on this team since the start of the site, and I hope that Kristine never gets tired of me. We have an amazing group of talented ladies to inspire you in the next few months. Congrats to you all, and I am looking forward to working with you!

Just for fun, how about a sneak peek at the layout I did for my next Creative Scrappers reveal in two weeks?

BasicGrey Ambrosia

I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this Ambrosia collection from BasicGrey. I had the pleasure of being the designer of the November Layout Kit at Creative Scrappers, so naturally, I had to choose this collection. Here's what I created:

I'm excited to report that this kit is already sold out! If you like what you see, be sure and sign up for a subscription. Each kit comes with everything needed to create two layouts just like the ones I have created plus custom sketches based on these layouts. You also receive enough product to create a couple of pages on your own. Upcoming layout kit designers include Kristine Davidson with December's kit and Tanya Lamo with January's kit. I'll be designing the kit for February, so stay tuned for sneak peeks!

Sketch #28 and Sketchfest 2

Today is a big day at Creative Scrappers! Sketch #28 was revealed, and was an awesome sketch by Jodie Kautzner. Click here to see the sketch and what the rest of the DT created. I did something that I don't usually do with my page, and that was combining papers from several different manufacturers. I used Crate Paper, October Afternoon, and Webster's Pages. They all just seemed to work well together and with the colors in my picture.

Be sure and check out the forums at Creative Scrappers this week and join us for Sketchfest 2 which started today! There are tons of awesome challenges and prizes so be sure and stop by and scrap all week long!

Kit 'n' Kaboodles December kit

You have to check out the December kit at Kit 'n' Kaboodles! It is chock full of paper from GCD studios, but the great thing about this kit is that these papers aren't your traditional holiday papers. I find this to be a big plus because I'm not an event scrapper. I prefer to scrap the everyday moments, and this kit still allowed me to do that. I love the shimmer these papers have too! There is much more in this kit including KI Memories lace cardstock, Petaloo magnetic tag cards, glitter letter stickers, and more! Click here to see everything you get in the current kit. Here are a couple of pages I have created with this kit so far.

Thanks to Jules' challenge this weekend over at Kit 'n' Kaboodles, I cleaned up my scrap space and found my table and floor once again, and everything is organized. Now I can't wait to mess it all up again! Nothing gets my mojo flowing like cleaning and reorganizing my space does. (Well, shopping for new scrap supplies does too, but that wasn't happening, so this was the next best thing.) I hope you all have a good week and a happy Thanksgiving!

Creative Scrappers Sketch #26

Our sketch this week at Creative Scrappers was created by the super talented Kate Walsh. Click here to see the sketch and what the rest of the Design Team created.

I couldn't wait to dig into some of my new Crate Paper goodies, so that's what I used to create my layout, specifically the Lemongrass collection. I also used some Riff Raff chipboard, Prima flowers and Bo Bunny flowers, KaiserCraft rhinestones, American Craft thickers, and BasicGrey letter stickers.

I've also been having fun with the December kit from Kit 'n' Kaboodles! The kit will be revealed tonight, and then I'll have some sneak peeks to share! Hope you all are having a great weekend!

More KnK November Kit and Big Happenings at Creative Scrappers

By now you all know just how much I love the November kit from Kit 'n' Kaboodles. I especially love the BasicGrey chocolate chip mini album, and today I'm giving you a peek at what I have done with it. I think I'll wait to show you the inside pages as there are a few more that I want to add, and I want to add some more embellishements to the pages as well.

Isn't that owl just the cutest thing? It is a glitter cut from Fancy Pants. Everything you see here came in the kit except for the white mini alpha stickers which are from Making Memories. This mini album just cracks me up. Nothing that comes out of Caleb's mouth surprises me anymore. Some of the things he says, I can't post online. Thank you, Grandpa!

Here is a simple little card that I whipped up using the kit as well.

Also, be sure and check out all of the things going on at Creative Scrappers this month! Not only do we have the weekly sketches, but I am currently hosting a challenge for you to use fabric on a layout. You have until November 15th to complete this challenge, and all entries will be entered into a random drawing for a RAK from me!

You also have a few more days to enter this month's Creative Scrappers Guest Designer Contest!

Kristine is offering a Holiday Planner online class. The class starts on November 16th, and it is going to be a ton of fun. She also just started a "What About Me?" challenge too in which she is posting a challenge on the 1st and 15th of every month to get more pages about ourselves in our books!

Creative Scrappers has also announced their new Design Team call! Deadline for submissions is December 10, 2008. The new designers will be announced on December 12, 2008.

And last, but not least, guess what is coming up at Creative Scrappers:

That's right!!! Sketchfest 2!!!! It starts on November 30th and lasts for an entire week! Join us for a fun filled week of scrapping, sketches, fun challenges, games, and awesome prizes from our sponsors!

Hope you all are having a great week!

Smile!

Yep, that's what these pictures make me do...smile! We had fun in the leaves today! We tried to take advantage of what might be the last warm day of the season.

Sneaky Peeky!

Here's a sneak peek at the layouts I created with the Creative Scrappers November layout kit that I designed using BasicGrey's Ambrosia collection. I love these papers!!

We had a super fun time playing with Jack, Adam, and Josiah today at Sara's house! Thanks for having us over and for lunch! We will see you all again next week!

Creative Scrappers Sketch 24

I love, love, love this week's sketch at Creative Scrappers which was designed by Shanna Lewter. Click here to check it out and see what the rest of the Design Team created. Just as much as I love that sketch, I love these Graphic 45 papers that I used for my page. They have a retro/vintage feel to them that I am really into right now. I also used a bit of Crate Paper (the circle die cut paper) and a BasicGrey rub on. The layered flower is Prima and Making Memories.

I've also been playing around and making some sketches of my own and posting them at Crop Addict for their weekly sketch challenges. Here are a few of them:

I'm going out to take some pictures of the fall foliage when the kids wake up from their naps, so hopefully I'll have some good ones to post later. Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!
